Located close to the beautiful Kalundborg, Lerchenborg Castle was built in the period 1743-53 by General Christian Lerche. Christian Lerche was a big fan of the Roman architectural style "Baroque" in 1743, which Michelangelo also incorporated in some of his works. As a result, Lerchenborg Castle is designed to match the baroque's regarding symmetry standards, resulting in a harmonious architectural whole that is unique in Denmark.
